Classic Windows parody with a dash of modern surrealist humor injected. Unfortunately this type of thing doesn't do too much for me anymore, but I still appreciate it nonetheless. (Also, the button game froze my window and I'm not sure if it's meant to do that?)

idkhowcanacarfly responds:

Ill fix the button glitch and also thanks for the review :)
EDIT: fixed

This kinda takes me back to the days of point-and-click Flash stuff from the mid-2000s, yet with the schizophrenic humor of 2022. I like this, though I do wish there was a bit more depth to it - a proper "restart" feature would also be appreciated, refreshing the page feels like a kinda janky hack.

accurate and also hilarious

Although not a necessarily bad shmup, the ship moves far too fast and it makes the game harder than it should be - plus, although I'm not sure whether this was intentional as I haven't played a game like this in ages, you have to manually press Z each time you want to fire a shot which really wears down your finger after a while.

For being written in a Scratch clone, though, not bad! (edit 2021-05-14: Oh yeah, and my high score is 353.)

Sonic-Eclipse responds:

Yeah i couldn't figure out whether firing a shot should be semi-automatic (press Z) or automatic (hold Z), i'm trying to basically balance everything out and not make it too hard but also not make it too easy, i don't want people reaching the 1000s that quickly otherwise it undermines the meaning of hard work, but i may actually change this in a future release.

About the ship movement, i see what you mean as somebody already mentioned how stiff it is, like i mentioned to them i will definitely improve the controls in the future, but for now now i just focusing on some of the hard stuff to code. Also i'm still learning particle effects which might be a thing in a later revision if i can get it right.

Ever taken acid? This game is what it's like to be on acid. Why is Nepeta there? Why is Doomguy mowing his lawn? Why does stepping on his lawn cause instant death? (OK that's actually fair, but y'know, I need to pad out the length.) Why is the theme music modern blues recorded on what sounds like a 1930s record lathe? (Put that shit on Bandcamp by the way.)

So many questions that will never be answered. What I do know is that this is the greatest RPG of all time. Final Fantasy V, sit your ass down, meet Bebder Game.

best review so far

Pretty good platformer with extremely minimalist graphics. Although I finished it in just over a minute, I feel like if this had way more levels it would be something I'd buy on like, Steam or some other place. Please continue working on this!

Ordinary Tetris clone. Not too much to write home about.

Although the physics engine is a bit weird - what you have for "running' speed I'd consider walking speed - and there are certain times where I get stuck on grassy sections (which makes the Clown Cat fight harder than it should be), this is a pretty good Unity-based platformer. The red bricks being used as both a weapon of sorts and a platform is pretty clever, although the way they spin make traversing them much harder than it should be (ESPECIALLY in the second chapter).

Oh yeah - let it be noted that the sprite work in this is pretty good. I like it a lot.

Although it controls like a tech demo - and the kind of Flappy Bird-esque section near the end makes this very clear - this was actually kind of fun. I feel like this has potential.

Lim98SE responds:

thanks! im going to try to make more games, mostly platformers but im working on a puzzle game

Although I feel this has a lot of potential, the incredibly rough state of the game at present makes it a bit hard to play. As well, level 3 can be fairly easily cheesed using clever maneuvering to bounce yourself against the vertical edge of a wall while the other guy bounces up and down on spikes - though admittedly, that could be the correct option and I haven't realized it yet.

tl;dr - this feels more like a tech demo than a game, but I would be interested in seeing this concept worked upon.

Someonethtexists responds:

It is a very rough demo, and yes that is the intended solution for level 3. I can continue to polish and update the game as long as people are interested. Thanks for the feedback!

I like the internet most of the time. Also I write songs.
